It's our 178th Birthday!

To celebrate, you can give a gift - not to us, but to those who need it most

Central YMCA was founded in 1844 by Sir George Williams, beginning our journey as one of the world's most iconic health and wellbeing charities.

Ever since, we’ve transformed lives and broken down barriers for people in our communities.

This June 6th, to celebrate 178 years of Central YMCA, we’re growing three community projects in each of our focus areas - Youth, Health and Education.

Our campaigns will aim to raise money for Refugees, Children and Disadvantaged Young People. But we need your help.

Donate now to support one (or more) of the three community projects below:

Refugee Bursary
Refugee Bursary

Help us raise funds to support refugees (Ukrainian, Afghan, and anyone fleeing their country in search of safety) in their physical and mental wellbeing by giving them access to our Club and facilities for free.

The impact of having somewhere safe to go to support your physical and mental health, where you can exercise, take a class, find childcare, or simply sit and have a hot drink cannot be underestimated.

This is why we want you to help us establish a Refugee Bursary - to give anyone fleeing their home access to our Club and facilities as an inclusive community space.

Kids Playscheme

Help us raise funds to provide a safe place for kids from struggling families to develop physical and social skills, whilst promoting inclusivity, positive health and wellbeing.

We want you to help families who are struggling by supporting 30 children in our local community who are unable to access holiday clubs due to financial difficulties.

Here at Central YMCA we support children to develop physical and social skills, whilst promoting inclusivity, positive health and wellbeing. They get to take part in a range of activities; from swimming and obstacle courses to face-painting and bouncy castles.

Youth Digital Inclusion Fund

Help us raise funds to break down digital barriers and give disadvantaged young people the technology they need to gain skills and access career-focused courses.

Without access to the right technologies, already marginalised youth are being left behind and excluded from career and social opportunities.

It's up to us to help fight digital poverty, and to provide young people with the technology they need make lasting positive changes in their lives - to gain skills, access our study programmes, and take part in career-focused courses.

In doing this, you're giving them the ability to have a brighter future and get started in a range of industries, from physiotherapy to technology.
