As well as Apprenticeships across eight subject areas, from Business Admin to Horticulture.
We partner with employers from all across the North West to give you access to the best training opportunities after you leave school. From large multi-site employers, (like BUPA and McDonalds Hotels), to local nursery schools and health and fitness clubs, we’re connected.

Study Programmes

What is a Study Programme?
Study Programmes are the first step for school leavers, aged 16-19 years. Over 12 months, you’ll study for a vocational (practical) qualification and gain some work experience. You’ll also build on your employability skills and achieve the level of maths and English that employers look for.
Early Years and Childcare
About this course
The Childcare Training Academy is a fully-funded 6-month course for 16-18 year olds and is the perfect foundation to help get you started in a successful career working with children and contributing to their development.
You will gain the basic knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children and will learn about their growth, learning and development and well as hands-on experience through exciting work placements.
Qualifications available
Level 1 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Caring for Children
Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People
Fitness Training Academy – Powered by Nike

About this course
The FTA is an alternative to college and A-levels for 16-18-year olds. The FTA gives you a step into the fitness industry with a fully-funded two-year course.
In that time, you’ll become a qualified Personal Trainer and gain professional experience with weekly work placements at established fitness and leisure clubs.
Health and Social Care

About this course
If you are passionate about caring for people with kindness, consideration and respect, then our Health and Social Care Study Programme could be the perfect fit for you. This Study Programme will provide you with an introduction into the social care sector and can get you started in a fulfilling career in adult social care or in children and young people's settings.
You will cover a variety of areas such as:
- Understanding communication and personal development
- Equality, diversity and inclusion
- Health and safety
- Safeguarding, protection and duty of care
- Understand person-centred approaches in adult social care settings
- The role, duties and responsibilities of the social care worker.

Level 1 in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children and Young People Settings

Employability
About this course
Our Employability Skills Study Programme can help you get started in a range of industries from fashion to technology and is the perfect foundation to help you get on the career ladder. This Study Programme will equip you with the necessary skills, experience, knowledge, confidence and motivation required to enter and succeed in the world of work.
We will design this course around you and can cover a variety of areas such as:
- Business and customer awareness
- How to set targets, manage your time and keep improving
- Understanding work principles, motivation and customers
- Understanding innovation, problem solving and creative thinking
- Managing a project and understanding risk
- Planning a budget and tackling number problems
- Working in a team and dealing with conflict
- Social media in the workplace
- Job search, application and interview skills.

Traineeships

What is a Traineeship?
Traineeships are a way for 16-24-year olds to develop first-hand experience of the workplace with a 6-month traineeship (sometimes called an internship).
We reach out to employers for you to make sure we line up work experience in your area of interest.
Getting work experience is one of the best ways of signalling to an employer that you’re ready for work.
Apprenticeships

What is an apprenticeship?
If you already have some relevant work experience, and a strong level of maths and English too, you may feel ready to go straight for an apprenticeship. Anyone between the ages of 16-65 can apply to become an apprentice. Read more about apprenticeships, how they work and what’s expected of you.
