The effective storage and distribution of goods have always been critically important in manufacturing and retail. As online shopping grows, storage and warehousing become even more important.
Nowadays, customers judge a company based on its delivery performance. Was the delivery correct? Was I kept informed? Did it arrive on time? Will I shop here again? A ‘perfect delivery’ is a major competitive advantage in today’s marketplace.
Of course, the field of transport and logistics is broad. The supply chain covers the effective storage and transport of every element that goes into making a product, not just its final delivery to a customer.
