Jeesal Group – winner of our Large Employer of the Year award 2016

This Norfolk-based company have demonstrated an impressive level of care and attention to their learners

What does it take to win one of our YMCA Training employer of the year awards? Jeesal Group, a Norfolk-based organisation that provides care for adults with learning disabilities, certainly offers plenty of clues.

The company currently reserve up to 25 staff vacancies per year for Health and Social Care Apprenticeships. And they were awarded large employer of the year 2016 thanks to their extraordinary commitment to the development of their learners.

The company has created an e-learning suite so their apprentices have a space to study and seek help where needed. It also has also employed a full time coordinator to support apprenticeships within the business.

That’s certainly enough to win an award, but the thought that has gone into their learners doesn’t stop there.

Jeesal Group are also in the process of creating a two-week induction for apprentices. During this period learners can complete their mandatory training, settle in and get to know each other.

“Our aim is to become a learning organisation that has one of the highest and best records of continuing education and apprenticeships in the Eastern region,” a company spokesperson told us.

“The most exceptional commitment the CEO has shown is that we are now at the planning stage to build a brand new training-academy styled building with classrooms, cafe and study area on our Cawston Hospital site.

“If planning is secured, this will be built this year and will serve our entire workforce”.
