Level 2 Adult Care Worker

Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker

A Healthcare Support Worker (HSW) provides high-quality and compassionate health and social care for a wide range of people.

As an HCW you will carry out well-defined routine clinical duties, things like monitoring an individual’s conditions (by checking things like blood pressure, temperature or weight), checking on their overall progress, comfort and wellbeing. Depending on where you work, you may also help them to eat, drink, wash, dress or go to the toilet.

For the right person, this can be a rewarding career. The care you provide must be delivered with kindness, consideration, dignity and respect.

Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker

You will have responsibility for providing supervision, frontline leadership, guidance and direction for others working in your team. Working in a caring profession, with vulnerable people, demands the right skills and behaviours. The care you provide must be delivered with kindness, consideration, dignity and respect. You’ll support your team to deliver compassionate care and ensure codes of conduct and safe working practices are maintained.

This Apprenticeship Standard qualification has been designed by 12 leading employers, so you can be sure that it meets the needs of the modern retail industry. Designed by: Hertfordshire County Council, Woodford Homecare and West of England Centre for Inclusive Living (WECIL) (to name a few).

Level 5 Healthcare Assistant Practitioner

Apprenticeship Standard

A Healthcare Assistant Practitioner (HAP) provides, supervises and coordinates high-quality and compassionate health and social care for a wide range of people.

Assistant Practitioners work at a level above that of Healthcare Support Workers (HSW) and have a more in-depth understanding of factors that influence health and ill-health (e.g. anatomy and physiology). An Assistant Practitioner works within the care team. They undertake defined clinical or therapeutic interventions appropriately delegated by a Registered Practitioner.

As a HAP you’ll also be involved in supervising, teaching and mentoring HSWs; ensuring compassionate care is delivered and employer policy, protocols and standard operating procedures are followed.
