Ready to start a career in landscape gardening. Swanson landscapes Ltd is looking for an apprentice to join their team.
Applicants ideally should have a full driving license and preferably their own vehicle to get to the workplace. Alternatively, they must be able to get to Kennett where Swanson Landscapes is based and they will be driven to the work sites from there.
No prior knowledge of gardening is essential but an interest in horticulture and/or minor engineering projects would be advantageous.
This job will involve all aspects from soft and hard landscaping. Other than general labouring (digging, mixing and barrowing) there will be
- patio laying,
- sleeper work,
- grass cutting,
- hedge cutting and other general gardening jobs.
- Keeping tools tidy and maintained plus setting up and packing down a site will also be required.
Applicants will need to be:
- Well organised and reliable
- A good team player
- Able to show initiative
- In reasonable physical shape
Requirements and prospects
GCSE Level maths & English, 4–9 or equivalent but not essentia
- Willing to learn
- Confident, professional and trustworthy
- You will need good communication skills and be comfortable with creative thinking
- Experience of working/participating in a team environment
- Written, verbal and listening skills
A permanent position may be offered upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

This is an outdoor position.
Apprentice wage based on age/previous experience to be paid Monthly. (£4.15 - £8.72 per hour)
Training to be provided
Level 2 Horticultural and Landscaping Operative Apprenticeship Standard.
