Nursery Nurse Apprentice

Summary

Duties/responsibilities to include:

  • Assisting in meal times
  • Personal care (nappy changing, feeding, caring)
  • Establishing a relationship with the children
  • Key responsibilities to individual children
  • Preparing learning journeys
  • Creating visual displays for the nursery setting
  • Organising the setting, ensuring all is safe, clean, and well presented
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to relevant ideas
  • Be able to understand and implement the settings confidentiality policy
  • Contribute towards an effective and supportive team environment
  • Setting up the nursery in the mornings and also closing down in the afternoons

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

GCSE (or equivalent) grades A*-C/9-4 in English and maths or Level 1 Functional Skills desired.

  • The chance to progress onto the Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Educators.
