As a Volunteer at the Central YMCA Club, you join a team over 200 individuals giving their time to help run what is central London’s largest health and fitness facility.

Central YMCA Qualifications (CYQ) is a government approved exercise and fitness specific awarding body. CYQ evaluate and provide quality assurance to both national and international Centres for their suitability to offer a full range of qualifications to candidates.
To provide first class customer support to CYQ’s approved Centres in the form of telephone and email correspondence, as well as contribute to the day-to-day administrative duties of the Customer Support Team. The successful applicant should be an enthusiastic and confident individual who places the highest priority on excellent customer support. They should be comfortable with handling inbound and outbound customer contact and be passionate about improving customer satisfaction. As well as this, the successful applicant will be keen to learn and continually develop their knowledge of our full range of qualifications and services.
An experience of working within an office environment and following administrative processes is preferable, but of much greater importance is that we find a driven individual who is keen to help further improve our reputation for providing excellent customer service. An understanding of the role and responsibilities of an awarding body, and in particular CYQ’s remit, is also highly desirable.

Central YMCA comprises five component operations. Central YMCA Club; Central YMCA Qualifications; One K X; and Y Touring Theatre Company. They all operate directly through the Charity and YMCA Fitness Industry Training (YMCAfit) operates through a subsidiary charity, London Central YMCA Ltd. The Charity’s mission is delivered predominantly within health, fitness, education and creative arts sectors and is to “provide, inspiration, education and opportunities for health in mind, body and spirit”.
The Maintenance Technician will carry out any maintenance work in order to ensure the safe, efficient and continued operation of all of the Charity’s sites
The hours will be an average of 42hrs per week working a 3 week rota including 1 weekend, between the hours of 6am to 10.30pm with occasional scheduled night work.
You must have strong cross trade experience in the building/maintenance trade and have experience of dealing with a variety of contractors to ensure a high quality services. Excellent customer care is needed along with good organisational skills, good numeracy and literacy skills. The ability to work in a team on a shift pattern basis is required.
